Which is better, Coke or Pepsi?
Which is better, Coke or Pepsi?
Depends what you are looking for, per 7.5 oz:
- Pepsi has more caffeine: 24 mg vs. 21 mg in Coke.
- Coke has fewer calories: 90 calories vs. 100 calories in Pepsi.
- Pepsi has less sodium: 20 mg vs. 30 mg in Coke. Pepsi seems especially proud about this, and markets “very low sodium.”
- Coke has less sugar: 25 g vs. 26 g in Pepsi.
- So Pepsi IS sweeter!

- From my quick blind taste test:
- Coke has more of a vanilla / caramel taste and goes down “smoother.”
- Pepsi has more of a citrus flavor. I also checked it’s ingredients and Pepsi lists “citric acid,” while Coke does not. However, both list “natural flavors.”
- These figures are for the US market. Interesting that the sugar content and ingredients vary by country. How much sugar is there in a fizzy drink? It depends where you buy it. The sugar content in Coke Ranges 7 grams in the larger 12 ounce can, from Thailand to Canada.

- Coke seems to have a better brand name, especially in the bar setting: Rum & Coke, Jack & Coke, etc.
- Coke is also more associated with the holidays. Is Coca-Cola responsible for Santa's red suit? Take a look at these adverts.
